Five-Time National Champions
The Washburn University Dancing Blues are an integral part of Washburn spirit. Serving as the university dance team, the Dancing Blues perform at all home football games, women’s and men’s basketball games, NCAA tournament games, appear at university and alumni events and compete at the national level.
The Dancing Blues are five-time American Dance and Drill Team National Champions with titles in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Currently, the Dancing Blues compete at the DTU College Classic Invitational in Orlando, FL.
Join the Dancing Blues and earn a scholarship
Tryouts for the 2025-2025 Dancing Blues will be held during the 2025 spring semester. All incoming freshman, transfer and current Washburn University students in good standing are eligible to try out. Successful members will receive a scholarship for their commitment to the Dancing Blues.
Other benefits include:
- Uniforms and warm-ups provided by WU
- Per diems during travel to away games
