How your credits transfer

  • Most students are able to transfer all of their general education courses from regionally accredited institutions.
  • Major-specific credit transfers are determined by individual departments at Washburn. Contact a transfer counselor to learn more. 
  • Check out our Transfer My Credit Portal to see how your credits might transfer to Washburn. 
  • Official evaluations are processed by the University Registrar's Office after you have been admitted to Washburn University and submitted all final official transcripts from each college or university you have attended.

How to apply

  • Complete a FREE admissions application.
  • Submit official transcripts from each post-secondary school where you’ve taken courses for credit.
  • Submit official high school transcripts (only if you've taken less than 24 credit hours)
  • Submitting ACT or SAT scores is optional. Washburn does not use them to award academic merit scholarships. However, some scholarships do require test scores.

Admission applications are processed on a continual basis throughout the year. You can apply to Washburn up until one week prior to the last day to enroll for a given semester.

Semester start dates:

Fall 2022: August 20
Spring 2023: January 14
Summer 2023: May 30

Some majors and programs may have their own application deadlines.
