Move-In Information
Move-In Day is Thursday, August 13th, 2026!
On August 13th, we are excited to welcome you to Washburn University! To help make your move-in experience smooth and efficient, please plan to arrive during your designated time slot. This will help reduce waiting times and ensure a steady flow of traffic.
Prior to Move-In Day:
1) Login to MyWashburn and then the Housing Portal to double-check your room number and any roommates on the Room Assignment Info page. If you haven't already, reach out to roommates/suitemates to talk through items you are bringing and to get to know one another.
2) Mark your items with your name, building, and room number using painter's tape.
Move-In Times by Location
LLC and Lincoln Hall:
- Last names A-I: 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
- Last names J-R: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- Last names S-Z: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Village: If you would like move crew assistance, please arrive between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM
West Hall: If you would like move crew assistance, please arrive between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM
Step-by-Step:
1) Make sure you have your I-Card (Washburn ID)* with you, pull up to the designated unloading zone and have Move Crew help you unload your belongings. Don't leave your car unattended. Once unloaded, park your car or have your guest park it in the nearby parking lot.
2) *If you haven't already gotten your I-Card, submit a photo online using the GET app by logging in with your Washburn credentials https://www.washburn.edu/student-life/icard/get-icard.html
3) Go to the check-in tent to confirm your room and get checked in.
4) Head to your floor where you will meet a Res Life student staff member who will give you your move-in packet.
5) Unpack and start to make the room your own! Only use thumbtacks for hanging items. Do not use adhesives (command strips, TikTok lights, etc.). Please do not mount your TV. You are welcome to deloft or adjust the bed-just ask us first about what you need to do.
Afternoon/Evening Activities of Move-In Day:
1) Say goodbye to family and friends who helped you move in
2) Make plans for dinner with a few new friends
3) Attend your floor meeting @6:30pm with your Resident Assistant
4) We will have our community meeting in White Concert Hall right after your floor meeting
5) Hangout in White Concert Hall for our Office of Student Involvement and Development event
