General Education Requirements

  • 3 credits - EN 101 First year writing
  • 3 credits - MA 116 College Algebra (with grade of C or better)
  • 6 credits – Humanities, Creative and Performing Arts (from two different areas)
  • 6 credits – Natural Sciences (from two different areas)
  • 6 credits – Social Sciences (from two different areas)

Area of Concentration

You’ll choose a concentration in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Information Sciences, Physics, or Mathematics and Statistics. For a field of concentration in mathematics, required hours are satisfied by Mathematics courses numbered 151 or above (excluding MA 206 and MA 228).

Coursework in your concentration does not include the six hours of general education. You’ll need to earn at least six hours in each of three subject areas within the Natural Sciences and Mathematics. Potential courses are selected by faculty and you’ll work with an advisor to choose the best for your goals.

Electives

You’ll round out your associate degree with 12 credits of elective courses outside of your area of concentration. 12 credits may be three or four classes. Work with your advisor to create the best plan for your goals.

Fill out the Undergraduate Admissions Application and enroll to pursue an Associate of Arts in Natural Science and Math. You can declare your major right away.
