Washburn S.W.I.F.T Start Academy is a 4-day camp that will assist in students' transition to college. We will Sponsor Washburn Ichabods' Future Triumphs by:
  • Strengthening students' sense of belonging
  • Fostering students' self-efficacy
  • Developing students' academic interests

When:
12:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11

9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12 through Wednesday, Aug. 14

Eligible Students:
First year Washburn freshmen

Benefits:

  • Attend College skills workshops
  • Experience college life with a cohort of incoming first-year students
  • Explore college majors
  • Meet knowledgeable mentors
  • Receive a swag bag
  • Earn $100 in Bod Bucks upon completion of the academy. Bod Bucks can be used most places on campus including the bookstore, dining halls, and vending machines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. In order to receive the $100 in Bod Bucks, you must participate in the entire program.
It will cost eligible students nothing.
No. This is a non-residential program. Students need a reliable form of transportation to commute to campus each day.
Yes. The program will feed each student lunch Monday-Wednesday.
