Dr. Conner is a member of NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals and the National Council on Family Relations. She has presented numerous research posters including presentations at the annual conferences of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, National Council on Family Relations, the Midwest Conference on Problem Gambling and Substance Abuse, and International Society for Research on Internet Interventions. Dr. Conner has published articles on clinical practices in individual and group therapy, young adult perceptions of romantic relationships, and recovery-oriented systems of care. She graduated summa cum laude from Kansas State University with the Peterson Prize award for outstanding graduating senior in Psychology. While in graduate school at Kansas State, she had nominations for the graduate student council award for graduate student teaching excellence, the graduate teaching assistant outstanding teaching award, and the golden key outstanding graduate teaching assistant of the year. During that time she also helped to develop a non-profit organization and research team, Relevate, which sets out to provide accessible, research-based information to support healthy relationships. Dr. Conner has supported the Family and Human Services Department in raising money on Washburn's Day of Giving for various funding projects and has facilitated a collaboration with the Mass Media Department at Washburn to produce an informational podcast on the Family and Human Services Department curriculum and career opportunities titled, "For Human Sake".
