- Karen has served as Clinical Education Coordinator for the Washburn University Athletic Training Program for 10 years. She is also a Stop the Bleed and American Red Cross CPR instructor.

- Karen is also very active in her community and has served on the USD 329 Health and Safety Committee and is a member of the Parent After School Program Board of Directors.
- Career Accomplishments
- Karen has served the athletic training profession at local, state, district and national levels. She is currently on the National Athletic Trainers' Association Connection and Engagement Committee as the District V representative and chairs the Mid-America Athletic Trainers' Association (MAATA) Connection and Engagement Committee. She has served on the MAATA Board of Directors, as the Vice-President of the Board of Directors, and on the Finance Committee. Karen has also served as Past-President, President, President-Elect, Treasurer, Annual Symposium Committee Chair, and Young Professional Representative for the Kansas Athletic Trainers' Society.
