Involved with the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators as well as with state and regional higher education organizations. Focused work on Student Veterans, Violence Prevention and issues of Diversity.
- Career Accomplishments
Eric Grospitch, Ed.D currently serves as the Vice President for Student Life at Washburn University. In that role since 2016 he works with Counseling, Student Health Services, Student Recreation and Wellness, Residential Living, Student Accessibility Services, the Office of Student Involvement and Development, Veteran Services, Campus UBAT team, Employee Wellness and Career Services.
Previously he was the assistant vice chancellor and dean of students at the University of Missouri Kansas City, and Associate Director of Student Housing at the University of Kansas.
He has led several strategic initiatives including the Washburn University COVID-19 response, multicultural engagement, fraternity and sorority planning, campus safety, diversity education, and transportation initiatives. In Topeka he has served as the Chairperson for the Leadership Greater Topeka Advisory Group and was recently named to the Momentum 2027 Executive Steering Committee. He represents Washburn University as a member of the Downtown Topeka Incorporated Board and is a member of the Topeka South Rotary. His wife Shelly is a middle school teacher at CTK and the are excited that both of their children are students at Washburn.
Eric received his Bachelor's degree in Business and Masters in Counseling from Fort Hays State University and his Ed.D in Educational Policy and Leadership from the University of Kansas.
