As a sport management student, you'll take general kinesiology courses and a variety of business courses. You'll also have sport-specific coursework where you'll investigate the legal, ethical, historical and philosophical foundations of sport in American society. At the end of your coursework, you'll complete an internship where you'll gain valuable hands-on experience in a sports industry area of your choosing.

- You will earn a minor in business as part of your degree.
- You can choose to add the Entrepreneurship Certificate in the School of Business to your major. If you dream of running your own sport, recreation or fitness-related business, this certificate can help you meet your goals.
- You'll have the opportunity to earn a Certificate of Patron Management.
- Working part time at Washburn's Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) or for the Washburn Athletics game-day operations staff can help you gain experience while earning money.
