About Field Education
Field Education provides students with the opportunity to engage in social work practice in professional community settings that meet student's academic needs.
Students will have the opportunity to engage in field-based supervision that contributes to theoretical, knowledge base and skill acquisition, and the development of a critically reflective professional identity based on the core values of social work.
During their time in the field, students have the opportunity to identify and engage in tasks that diversify their learning and strengthen their commitment to improving the well-being of oppressed and disenfranchised populations.
Field Education provides students with opportunities to evaluate their competency for bachelor and graduate level social work practice in a way that strengthens their commitment to lifelong learning.
Through this capstone experience, students gain a multilevel system of support that empowers them in the acquisition of the knowledge, skills, and perspectives necessary for competent social work practice.
