Associate degree in Criminal Justice
An Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice will provide you with the knowledge and technical skills required to pursue a wide variety of entry-level criminal justice positions, including law enforcement, adult and juvenile corrections, and private sector security.
Courses are a mix of online and in person and are designed for both personnel already employed in the criminal justice field and those interested in joining it.
Criminal Justice at Washburn
When you study Criminal Justice at Washburn you'll be learning from professors with real-world experience in small classes. The combination of online and in person courses makes this program flexible.
You'll learn about both the practical and theoretical aspects of criminal justice, including analyzing the nature of crime and justice in the U.S., as well as evaluate the police, courts and correction systems. You'll also have the opportunity to gain real-life experience in the field through an internship, but it is not required.
Students who graduate from the program develop a wide range of professional skills including critical thinking, communication, quantitative reasoning, diversity adeptness and ethical decision-making.
