About the Summer Academy
The Upward Bound Summer Academy is a rewarding and fun pre-college experience for high school students involved in the Washburn Upward Bound Program. It is a six-week, day camp that all Upward Bound participants are strongly encouraged to attend.
Register by April 1, 2024 to participate in Summer Academy!
Summer activities include: academic enrichment, financial literacy, test prep, a college tour, and wellness activities. Come Monday-Thursday and join us for Field Trip Fridays!

Holiday schedule
Summer Academy will observe the following holidays:
- May 27 – Memorial Day
- June 19 – Juneteenth
- July 4 – Independence Day
Field trip Fridays
Summer Academy instruction will occur in Mabee Library on the Washburn University campus Monday-Thursday. Students who attend Monday-Thursday are eligible for a field trip on Friday!
Field trips are FREE for Upward Bound participants!
