Throughout National and State of Kansas First-Generation Celebration Week students can participate in the below in person events and tabling to swipe in for a drawing of 3 $1000 Fall 2025 scholarships.
Monday November 4th
First-Generation Social Media Trivia on @WeAreF1rst on Instagram
Wednesday November 6th
Aim &Toss Fundraising Tournament at Student Recreation and Wellness Center at 6 PM
- Students in teams compete in a cup pong or cornhole tournament and have a 50/50 raffle!
- Students are welcome to watch but MUST bring their Washburn ID!
- Free food on a first come first serve basis!
Thursday November 7th
First-Generation Campus Photo outside at North Memorial Union Lawn at 12:15 PM
- Join our annual campus photo for First-Generation Pride for all Faculty, Staff, & Students.
- Receive your First-Gen Prod shirt if you did not get one last year!
- Free refreshments on a first come first serve basis!
Friday November 8th : National and State of Kansas First-Generation College Celebration Day
- Coffee Talk at Memorial Union Underground from 11 AM – 1 PM
- Grab a cup of coffee or tea and celebrate!
- F1rst-Gen Friday at Memorial Union Underground from 12 PM – 1 PM
- Just us as we listen to Dr. Teresa L. Clounch, Dean of Students, speak about her experiences as a First-Generation student.
- Free pizza on a first come first serve basis!
