What Are Sponsored Accounts?
Sponsored accounts (formerly known as "guest” or “NET code” accounts) give Washburn credentials (username and password) to people who work or volunteer at Washburn, but who are not paid by Washburn, so they can access general computing services like email, Microsoft 365, D2L, Banner, etc. People in these roles might be contractors, vendors, consultants, visiting scholars, etc.Sponsored Accounts Limitations & Exceptions
- This form should be filled out by the WU employee who is sponsoring the guest.
- Sponsored accounts must be approved by a supervisor.
- Sponsored accounts must indicate a date when they will be disabled.
- Sponsors are responsible for keeping track of appropriate usage and maintaining a record of their sponsored accounts.
