Master of Health Science Post-Graduate Certificate - 9 credit hours

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates for admission to the Post-Graduate Certificate in Health Care Education must be actively enrolled in the Washburn DNP program or have already obtained a clinical master’s or doctorate degree in an Allied Health profession, and have two years professional work experience in a health care environment. Such professional experience would include, but is not limited to, health care administration, health information technology, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiologic technology, dental hygiene, or other health care specialty.  Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) students may apply for admission as part of their DNP coursework at Washburn University.

Application Process

  1. Complete the Degree Seeking Online Graduate Application. The online graduate application requires that you:
    • Create an account.
    • Pay an application fee ($40).
    • Upload unofficial transcripts of graduate coursework.
    • Acknowledge an attestation clause regarding the program’s schedule and requirements.
  1. Submit official graduate transcripts reflecting graduate degree earned to Washburn University Admissions using one of the following methods:
    • Send electronically to etranscripts@washburn.edu
    • Send via U.S. mail to Washburn University, Admissions, 1700 SW College Ave., Topeka, KS 66621.

Requirements for Earning the Post-Graduate Certificate

  1. Complete the 9-credit hour graded course sequence with at least a 3.0 grade point average. A student receiving a "C" may retake the course, but only one time.
    NOTE: DNP students will be eligible to receive the certificate at the completion of the Washburn
    University DNP program.
