- Academic History
- Served as president & CEO of Washburn University Foundation since 2002. Prior to this appointment, she served as dean of the Washburn University School of Business from 1998-2002. Joined Washburn in 1992 as assistant professor of accounting, received tenure and was promoted to associate professor in 1998. Dedicated to the teaching mission of Washburn, she continues to teach accounting in the MBA program as possible. She received the Washburn University Ned Fleming Excellence in Teaching Award in 1997 and is a Certified Management Accountant.
- Service Interests/Activities
- JuliAnn currently serves on the Board of Directors of St. Francis Health Center, chairing the Finance Committee, the Kansas Hospital Association, the KS District Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, Junior Achievement, and the Executive Board of the Boy Scouts – Jayhawk Area Council. She served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce and as treasurer, vice-chair, and by-laws committee for Faith Lutheran Church. She is a member of the Association of Governing Boards, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
- Career Accomplishments
- Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Foundation’s fundraising and stewardship programs and the investment and management of $150 million in assets. The Foundation makes available nearly $10 million of support annually for scholarships, faculty support and capital projects. The Foundation is recognized as a leader and its practices and leadership are highlighted in publications and presentations. Received the CASE Award for Excellence in Fundraising in 2008 and 2009.
