Share Your Gift With the University Library

Dr. Alan Bearman"The University Library is the intellectual and cultural heart of any university. At Washburn University, the Library is also home to the Center for Student Success and a constant hub of activity that sees students and faculty connect to the resources and assistance they need to succeed. Without our Friends, the Libraries and Center for Student Success cannot meet the expanding needs of the Washburn community of learning. Your support of our efforts is the difference because it immediately promotes faculty and student success every day."
 - Dr. Alan Bearman, Dean of University Libraries

Give to the University Library

Next to its faculty, Washburn University’s most important resource is its library. It is understood that without great libraries—the repository of knowledge, scholarship and wisdom—there are no great universities.

For generations, a university library was primarily a collection of print materials. Now and into the future, the Washburn Libraries make not only books available to their many users, but alongside them provide access to an ever increasing array of technological resources. Both inside the buildings and online, the Washburn Libraries offer an extensive and growing number of innovative educational opportunities that support and extend Washburn’s teaching, learning, research and outreach activities.

Home to the Center for Student Success, Academic Advising, the First-Year Experience Program, the Center for Teaching Excellence & Learning, University Writing & Tutoring Center and the University Library continues to provide both print and electronic access to information. The University Library is the crossroads of the Washburn University community of learning.

Donations of any size make a difference for tje University Library because they are immediately directed to positively impact student success.

Immediate Priorities include:

-Scholarship and stipend support for Peer Educators & Tutors
-Increase support and membership of The Friends of the Library
-Increase support for Student Success programming
-Increase support of Library material purchasing; both electronic and print
-Support for the continued reinvention of current Library spaces to promote student success and expansion of the Library as recommended by Campus Master Plan
