Minoring in Philosophy
Requirements for the Minor
Minor programs in philosophy are individually designed by the student in consultation with a department advisor and subject to department approval. A minor will consist of at least 15 hours in philosophy, including six upper division hours. One of the following logic courses is required: PH 104: Introduction to Logic and Critical Thinking or PH 220: Symbolic Logic. Beyond this requirement, courses may be broadly selected or may concentrate in an area of particular interest.
Students who would like to explore philosophy as a possible major or minor are encouraged to enroll in PH 100: Introduction to Philosophy, PH 102: Ethics Introduction to Moral Problems, or PH 104: Introduction to Logic and Critical Thinking during their freshman year.
