Scholarships for education students

Scholarships, in the form of tuition assistance, are available to students preparing to become early childhood educators, elementary classroom teachers, secondary classroom teachers in all subject fields, and candidates for graduate degrees or advanced teaching licenses. 

Scholarships may cover the cost of a single course or an entire academic year. Amounts range form $300 to $2,500. 

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of both academic excellence and financial need. Applications are considered by the department scholarship committee each spring for the following academic year. 

Undergraduate scholarships

To be eligible for a scholarship you must:

  • be formally declared in a program leading to licensure
  • be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours during the term of the scholarship
  • submit a completed Education Department Scholarship Application Form by February 1

Graduate scholarships

To be eligible for a graduate scholarship you must:

  • be formally admitted, by the term of the scholarship, to the graduate program
  • be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during the term of the scholarship
  • submit a completed Education Departmental Scholarship Application Form by February 1
