Bachelor of Health Science (B.H.S.)


How to apply:

  1. First, you must apply and be accepted into Washburn University. Apply to Washburn University
  2. Secondly, you must fill out a separate application for the program. Along with the application, you must submit your official transcript. Apply to the BHS program. For more information, you can refer to the BHS information packet.

Program Admission Requirements:

 You must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.00 scale and you must meet one of the following criteria:


1) You must have an Associate’s degree or higher in a health­care program from an approved  

Allied-Health program. Some examples include:

     Respiratory Therapy, Radiologic Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant, Health

     Information Technology and Occupational Therapy Assistant.

You must also provide documentation that you are credentialed, licensed or registered in a

healthcare profession.


2) You must have 60 Completed College Credit Hours (includ­ing the following courses)

AL 101 Foundations of Healthcare

AL 320 Human Disease

AL 355 Basic Concepts in Health Services Administration

plus ONE of the following,

BI 230 Intro to Human Physiology

BI 255 Human Physiolo­gy w/Lab

BI 250 Intro to Human Anatomy

BI 275 Human Anatomy w/Lab
