From 1998 to 2015 Marydorsey Wanless was a professor of photography at Washburn University. Over her career she has treated many subjects including birds in flight, the Kansas landscape and Caribbean beach towns. Most recently her work has dealt with the issue of ageing in two series Evidence of Ageing: Breaking Sixty and Living with Less: 365 Days of Discard. According to one source, “She is a master of the arcane arts of the darkroom, working with techniques often called 'historical alternative processes,' including tintype processing and gum bichromate printing."
