Pathways to a tuition-free degree

NE Kansas Advantage
- The Advantage is part of a financial aid package that provides a tuition-free pathway for residents of 17 counties in Northeast Kansas with a 3.0 GPA and household income of $75,000 or less.

Interstate Advantage
- The Advantage is a renewable award for Missouri and other out-of-state students. This financial aid package is up to $393 per credit hour ($11,790 for year for a full-time student), and qualifying is as simple as applying to Washburn.
The Kansas City connection at Washburn University
Several thousand Washburn alumni work in Kansas City, enjoying successful careers in business, government, health care and many other fields. Among them is Dr. Michael Hollins, a Kansas Citian who thrived on our campus. He lived the Ichabod Experience, finding the right pathway to success as an optometrist. In addition, many of our students jump-start their careers with internships in Kansas City.

Washburn is a fun place to learn and live, with more than 125 student organizations and numerous activities on our vibrant campus, including Weeks of Welcome. You can work out at The Rec (our nationally ranked campus gym), connect and celebrate with alumni and friends at events such as Homecoming, or join a fraternity or sorority. Washburn also has one of the most successful Division II athletic departments in the country, with more than 170 NCAA tournament appearances and multiple national titles.
