WIFI is dedicated to promoting and celebrating film production, stories from the Midwest, and education in film. The WIFI Film Festival exists as a standalone entity within the Topeka community to champion filmmakers. Yet, because some of the creative minds who thought up the vision for the festival work at Washburn University, the film festival adopts Washburn's WUmester theme each year as a focal point for its educational workshops, panels, and featured directors. Although the theme changes annually, the festival never loses its focus on film.

For a complete schedule of events, please visit the Film Fest page. Details on the featured panel and workshops can be found on the Education page.

Note: We will be live and in person at the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library, in Topeka, Kansas, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 and at the Rita Blitt Gallery at the Mulvane Art Museum on Washburn University’s campus at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20. Workshops will be a hybrid format simulcast on Facebook Live.

  • There is additional parking off MacVicar Avenue south of the Plass building (lot 9) which is most easily accessed from MacVicar and 19th Street.

BIKES AND BUSES

There is a bike rack underneath the walkway that connects the Memorial Union and the Living Learning Center (they both have signs). After you have turned on to Southwest Jewell Avenue from 17th Street, go to the end of the roundabout. The bike rack is to the left of the roundabout underneath the walkway.

To get to campus using the Topeka Metro, go to TopekaMetro.org for more information. Please keep in mind that the buses are occasionally behind schedule.
