Student Services at Washburn

Student Services is located in Morgan Hall, Suite 105.

The mission of the Student Services Office is to enhance students’ self-advocacy skills by providing opportunities, balanced with challenge and support, for accessibility to campus programs and services relevant to their needs.  We provide and coordinate relevant services for students with disabilities, veterans, and non-traditional students.

Disability Services

The Student Services Office assists in arranging accommodations and for identifying campus resources for students with disabilities.  New to Washburn and want to know how to begin utilizing services? Take the next step here

New Student Orientation

The college experience at Washburn University begins with New Student Orientation (NSO).  During your first year at Washburn, you will meet with many new challenges and opportunities, so we encourage you to register for a one-day orientation session.  New Student Orientation has been designed to assist new students in developing an understanding about the transition students will make to college and to enable success at Washburn.

Are you new to the Washburn experience and plan to attend New Student Orientation and accommodations are needed for individuals with disabilties?  Please contact the Student Services Office at 785-670-1629 for assistance.

Veterans Services

The Student Services Office helps veterans and their dependents in applying for Veterans Administration educational assistance programs and submitting enrollment certifications for VA educational benefits while currently attending the University.  “What’s the next step?” you ask.  Veterans Services is the ticket for detailed information on the Montgomery GI Bill, Post-9/11 GI Bill, or other military educational assistance programs in place at Washburn.

Non-Traditional Students/Adult Learners

Students are invited to visit with Student Services staff on any non-traditional related questions or concerns.  Interested in starting a non-traditional student organization?  Simply email us for an appointment.
