University Surplus

Washburn University Surplus manages excess office furniture and equipment. Staff work to ensure as many items as possible are restored to good condition and ready for use.

Washburn Employees
University personnel have access to any of the items that fit their needs and those items can be delivered to a campus office free of charge. Employees may also send items in good condition to surplus at any time.

Donation and Recycling
When an abundance of certain items exists, Washburn University donates them to non-profit community organizations or recycles them. Washburn’s priority is to make sure that every avenue of use on campus is first pursued.

A small percentage of Items received are beyond repair and do have to be disposed of via the landfill.
