Bill Shaffer lectures on The Films of Sergio Leone

Bill Shaffer wrote his master's thesis on "The Films of Sergio Leone." After completing his education he became a producer-director for KTWU Public Television.

Sergio Leone's A Fist Full of Dollars was released in Italy in 1964, 50 years ago. Bill was invited to talk about his research at the Kansas City Public Library, Plaza Branch, on Thursday evening, July 17, 2014. He spoke to a good crowd of about 75 attendees, many of whom raised their hands when asked who'd seen Leone's "Spaghetti Westerns" more than once. He offered interesting insights into the business and art of directing these popular western genre films.
