Welcome Week 2019

Whether you’re a new or returning Washburn student, Welcome Week provides a variety of opportunities for students to get involved, explore student services, and discover the Washburn community. The week features events and activities to help you discover everything Washburn has to offer and meet fellow students, faculty, and staff.

Welcome Week 2019 is from Thursday, August 15th to Thursday, August 22nd.

  • Move-In Day for students living on-campus is Thursday, August 15th. Visit Residential Living's webpage for details.
  • University classes for Fall 2019 start on Saturday, August 17th. Check out Washburn's Academic Calendar for important academic dates.

All Washburn students are invited to Welcome Week - transfer, students with children, military, graduate and Law students included!

Welcome to Washburn! The Residential Living Staff and hundreds of volunteers from across campus help you move into your new on-campus home. Check-in starts at 9 a.m. and continues all day.

Get cozy under the stars on the football field and enjoy one of this year's new movies on the jumbotron! Students, staff and faculty are welcome to bring blankets, sleeping bags, pillows, etc., or sit in the stadium stands.

Lawn chairs, food, and drink are not permitted on the football field. No outside food or drink allowed into the football stadium.

Tuesday, August 20

Celebrate the start of another school year with the Washburn Athletics coaches, Dancing Blues, University Marching Band and the Ichabod community. We will learn the university fight song, cheers, alma mater and much more. Afterward, we will go outside to Washburn's own festival of FUN! There will be games, music, great food and students from a variety of Washburn's student clubs and organizations.
