Paul Hoferer

Paul Hoferer is a mayoral appointee from the 20th state senatorial district, being named to the Board in 2013 by Mayor Larry Wolgast.  He graduated from Washburn Law School in 1975.

Hoferer retired from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation in 2008 as Vice President and General Counsel after 42 years.  Hoferer was elected President of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969.

Hoferer is currently President of the Washburn Law School Foundation and Chairman of the Law School Capital Campaign Task Force. He and his wife established the Paul and Jeanne Hoferer Law Scholarship in 2005.  Hoferer has served as an advisor to the Law School of Business and Transactional Law Center.  In 2009 he was selected as an Alumni Fellow by the Washburn Alumni Association.  In 2001 he was recognized by the Washburn School of Law with the Distinguished Service Award.  He is a Life Member of the Washburn Alumni Association and the Washburn School of Law Alumni Association

His term as Regent is to expire June 30, 2021.
