International performer/sculptural artist Sha Sha Higby.

What
A performance and workshop of Sha Sha Higby’s IN FOLDS OF GOLD, her latest work, in collaboration with Washburn University's Theater Dept., Art Dept., International Programs and Multicultural Affairs.

Medium/Description
Creations of hand crafted materials, textures and exotic sculptural costumes interwoven with puppetry, dance and intricate props, her work creates a journey in which movement and stillness meet.  

When
Friday, September 16, at 7:30 pm, Higby will present a performance of IN FOLDS OF GOLD using the exquisite and ephemeral body sculpture she meticulously creates herself and moves within.
Saturday, September 17, from 1-3 pm, Higby will present a Masks & Their Movement workshop at the Mulvane Art Museum.  Participants will gain insight into the creative techniques Higby uses for making her costumes while making their own paper mask sculptures.  Registration is required.  Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Workshop at the Mulvane Art Museum.

How Much
Performance General Admission Tickets are $10.00 in advance, $12.00 at the door.  There is a $2.00 discount for Friends of the Mulvane Art Museum members.  Washburn University students, faculty and staff are free with WU ID.  
Workshop cost is $8 per person for Members of the Friends of the Mulvane Art Museum and $10 for non-members.
