Core Values

Honesty/Trust - We value the trust and respect of the community we serve. We will always serve and protect our community with honor and commitment to our duty.

Education - We strive to provide a safe environment where learning and education are foremost. An environment where students, faculty and staff can concentrate on education without fear or concern for their safety.

Partnerships - The WUPD understands that working in a cooperative environment with other law enforcement agencies and community service groups increases our efficiency and our ability to deliver the highest quality police services to the campus community.

Community Orientation - WUPD is involved with the campus community and the community surrounding the campus. We work with neighborhood groups to gain cooperation, trust and to be a good neighbor. We believe campus and neighborhood involvement are part of our strengths.

Diversity - We value the differences in people as individuals. Understanding differences in color, race, sex, religion, gender, ethnicity, culture and/or orientation are what makes us better able to serve our constituents. We believe that the WUPD should be reflective of the community we serve in our hiring and training practices.

Service - We strive to provide the best possible police/safety services to the campus and surrounding communities. We provide this high quality of service through training and personal commitment to our mission and values.

Pride - We are proud to be members of the WUPD as an organization that is responsive to our community and provides the best possible law enforcement services. We take pride in our appearance, knowledge and abilities.
