A slate of new officers and board members have been named by the Friends of the Mulvane Art Museum, Inc. for fiscal year 2012-13.
Officers elected are: president, Laurie Niehaus, private banking specialist, Capital City Bank; vice president/president elect, Carrie Riordan, community volunteer; treasurer, Harold Benoit, community volunteer; recording secretary, Sarah Carkuff Fizell, owner, post Rock PR; immediate past president, Mark Boranyak, community volunteer.
New board members are Cora Spencer, artist and partner, The Eclective Gallery, North Topeka Arts Districe; and Marcy Cassidy, principal, Farley Elementary School, USD 437.
Current board members are: Cindy Adams, director of recruitment, Stormont Vail Hospital; Dan Billen, graphic artist, jones huyett Partners; Meg Braun, coordinator of school psychology, Topeka Public Schools; Jeanne Cohorst, president, Mulvane Women’s Board; Mark Dechand, sales associate, Zales Jewelry; Jim Ogle, manager, WIBW-TV; and Lynda Miller, adjunct instructor, art, Washburn; Olivia Simmons, president/CEO Visit Topeka Inc.; and Robin Wolgast, community volunteer.
Honorary members are Jeanne Bertelson, Carol Jory, Richard Ross, Judith Sabatini, Joe Scranton and Elizabeth Wunder.
The mission of the Friends of the Mulvane Art Museum, Inc. is to support the Mulvane Art Museum at Washburn University to encourage art in everyday life.
