Washburn University and Emporia State
University student government leaders have entered a challenge to see which
school can donate the most non-perishable food items to be given to area food
bank, in conjunction with the annual food drive is coordinated by Project
"Can Emporia" food drive will conclude on Feb. 21 at the Washburn vs. Emporia basketball game at Emporia. The student government president of the losing school will receive a pie in the face at halftime.
Washburn Student Government Association will sponsor several events to raise awareness and participation in the food drive.
Donors may bring cans to the WSGA office, lower level, Memorial.
The "Can Emporia" competition between WU and ESU began in 2007. Washburn has logged four wins; Emporia one. Competition CAN be a good thing!
