Kansas Day event at Washburn University to feature film on small towns

“Florence, Kansas,” a documentary glimpse of the growth, decline, struggles and dreams of one small Kansas town, will be shown at a Kansas Day event at 3:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 27 in room 208 of Henderson Learning Resources Center on the Washburn University campus. No admission is charged and the public is welcome.Filmmakers Frank Barthell and Steve Lerner will be present to discuss their work, which focuses on the challenges faced by small towns which have been forced to restructure the foundations of their community due to changing technology and shifting demographics.

The event is sponsored by The Center for Kansas Studies at Washburn University.
