Washburn Institute of Technology (Washburn Tech) seeks candidates for a Practical Nursing Instructor position. This position reports to the Health Occupations Coordinator and the Associate Dean for Instruction. Work schedule is Monday through Friday during the school year August 1st – May 31st. The incumbent will be expected to provide a positive role model for students and maintain licensure and certifications necessary to teach Licensed Practical Nursing classes. Teaching shall be based on current state-of-the-art practices in the Nursing Assistant field.
REQUIRED: BAN or degree plan in place to obtain a BSN. Computer Literate. Ability to move and maneuver equipment and materials weighing as much as 50 pounds; ability to document student performance, eye/hand coordination and temperament to work in all clinical sites and areas to be taught. Current Kansas RN licensure as a registered nurse in good standing with no disciplinary action pending. Ability to move and maneuver equipment and materials weighing as much as 50 pounds.
PREFERRED: MSN. Two years of full-time, professional work experience in nursing. Clinical experience in a hospital, long term care facility or similar health care facility and/or nursing instructional experience within the last two years. Teaching experience.
