Washburn Institute of Technology seeks applications for a Certified Production Technician (CPT) technical instructor for the 2014-2015 school year. The successful candidate will be required to submit to a background check prior to hire. This is a 12-month, full-time position with possibility of renewal. The person hired will be assigned to Lawrence Gardner High School at the Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex (KJCC) in Topeka. The person hired for the Technical Instructor position must satisfy a Kansas Department of Corrections background security screening, and must attend standard basic training classes on KJCC security and safety procedures.
Technical Instructors are expected to provide positive role models for students. Instruction shall be based on current state-of-the-art practices in the field.
REQUIRED: Associates degree in manufacturing production. Two years or ‘4000 hours’ of work experience in manufacturing production. MSSC Certified Production Technician Instructor certification.
PREFERRED: Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Production and Operations or related field. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
