Washburn Institute of Technology seeks applications for a Certified Production Technician (CPT) Technical Instructor. The successful candidate will be required to submit to a background check prior to hire. Position is 12-month, full-time with benefits, and assigned to Fort Riley military installation near Junction City, Kansas. This position has the possibility of renewal contingent on the availability of funding and the need for services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the development, organization, implementation and evaluation of curriculum.
  • Participate in developing standards for student admission, progression and program completion.
  • Instruct based on current teaching practices, including the potential of online teaching.
  • Collaborate with other technical instructors to implement the course of study.
  • Teach both theoretical and practical learning experiences.
  • Select and maintain appropriate materials, audiovisuals and equipment to enhance student education.
  • Observe, direct, guide, and evaluate student performance in a laboratory setting.
  • Maintain student records pertaining to the program.
  • Serve as a member of committees as assigned.
  • Perform all other functions necessary for the proper operation of assigned courses.
  • Move and maneuver equipment and materials weighing as much as 50 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED: Associates degree in manufacturing production or high school diploma with two years (4000 hours) of work experience in manufacturing production. Current MSSC Certified Production Technician certification or ability to obtain it by January 3, 2018.

PREFERRED: Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Production and Operations or related field. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
