Washburn University’s Philosophy Department invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2013. Area of Specialization: Ethics; possibly Logic, but Ethics preferred. Area of Competence: Logic and Ethics. Ph.D. required for tenure-track position; ABD considered for non-tenure-track Lecturer with possible conversion to tenure track. This is a full time, on-going position with a 12-hour teaching load each semester, normally including one or two sections of introductory ethics, a section of informal logic, and a section of symbolic logic. Occasional upper division teaching; usual non-teaching duties; possible summer work. Several years of experience at the Assistant Professor rank and demonstrated academic leadership a plus; demonstrated excellence in teaching is expected.
