Vacancy - Intensive English Lecturer

Washburn University's Office of International Programs invites applications for the position of Lecturer beginning August 2014 pending final approval of funding.  This is a 10-month, non-tenure track, one-year appointment as Lecturer with possibility of renewal. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Master degree
  • Experience teaching non-native English speakers 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master degree in Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Overseas teaching experience 

Responsibilities:

  • Teach four classes to speakers of other languages in the Intensive English (ESL) Program, which offers three levels in the following skill areas: speaking/understanding, reading, writing, grammar; and co-teaching Language in Context.
  • Advise international students in the Intensive English Program and assist the coordinator in other duties as they relate to the program, such as Language in Context, committees, testing and curriculum development.
