Vacancy - Graphic Design Lecturer

The Art Department at Washburn University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track lecturer position in teaching graphic design courses beginning August 2014 (possibility of renewal). 

Required Qualifications

  • Masters in Art or related field.
  • Experience as a professional graphic artist or graphic arts educator 

Preferred Qualifications

  • MFA  
  •  Demonstrated design aesthetics for contemporary print media
  •  Expertise in using the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign software)
  •  Experience with professional print processes
  • Experience in web design
  •  Knowledge of integrated design practices utilizing web, print, and social media
  • Familiarity with business practices of the design field 

Responsibilities

Teach three courses per semester and assist with departmental responsibilities including advising students, arranging internships in the field, and providing expertise in contemporary design curriculum.
