Human Resources seeks candidates for Web/Social Media Manager in Enrollment Management. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions, and holds responsibility for optimizing the application and integration of the web and social media resources into the University’s enrollment and recruitment efforts. The employee will work closely with the Admissions Office to enhance recruitment efforts.
Web Page/Digital Development:
Assist in creating and managing web pages within the department. Convene and consult with focus groups to obtain feedback on web pages. Develop and/or update web pages for target markets, applying feedback from focus groups and incorporating scrolling pictures, blogs, videos, imbedded links with pictures, and other technologies to optimize their appeal and usefulness to current/prospective students.
Review websites within the department periodically to ensure compliance with accessibility standards. Chair department committees and work with department content managers to modify content, appearance, compliance and standardization.
Compile and analyze data to identify the origin of web page visitors, length of time they spend on the Washburn website, which pages they access, bounce rate, etc. Apply information in web page development/optimization and/or report findings to the Executive Director of Enrollment Management and other University departments to facilitate planning and strategic planning efforts and maximize enrollment and recruitment efforts. Set up systems for reporting statistics on web usage, optimization, and analytics.
Social Media Development:
Using knowledge of communication habits and capabilities among target markets, develop and recommend tactics for the application of digital media in enrollment and recruitment activities to support enrollment and recruitment initiatives within the strategic plan.
Develop and recommend social media policies to serve as a guide for incorporating the use of social media resources into enrollment and recruitment activities, ensuring optimal application of available resources such as social networks and Twitter, and development of blogger relations and search strategies.
Attend conferences; participate in professional organizations; research journals, websites and other relevant sources to identify new technology and trends that may offer value in department efforts. Propose upgrades and acquisitions accordingly.
Cross-train with Communication Coordinator in the Admissions Office to serve as back-up when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree. Demonstrated expertise in the use and application of web, social and mobile media; analytics; search optimization; and E-commerce; professionalism and commitment to higher education. Work experience in higher education admissions, marketing, public relations or recruiting. Valid Kansas driver’s license.
PREFERRED: Master’s degree. Ability to speak and understand Spanish.
