C-TEL offers a number of core programs that serve faculty and staff and support Washburn’s teaching and learning mission. Please click on the links below to explore our programs.
The Certificate of Teaching and Learning is a program orchestrated by C-TEL. By completing the certification process you will be able to document, and will be recognized for your participation in webinars, workshops, symposia, and other C-TEL sponsored events focused on teaching excellence. To earn a Certificate of Teaching and Learning you only need to attend six (6) C-TEL organized events over the course of one academic year. While most events like webinars, workshops, or speakers count as one event, participation in more time consuming activities like Teaching Circles or the Course Design Symposium (each meet 3 times), count as three events. At the end of the year C-TEL will host a campus wide event during which faculty and staff will have the opportunity to collectively reflect on their learning.
This opportunity is open to all faculty (including adjuncts) and staff. We anticipate that earning a Certificate of Teaching and Learning will be especially appealing to faculty working toward tenure and promotion, lecturers and adjuncts seeking documentation of professional development, and anyone interested in the craft of teaching.
