Commencement is a ceremony to celebrate, honor and recognize the achievements of all students a degree.
The University has commencement celebrations at the end of the fall and spring semesters (December and May). Students completing degree requirements during the summer term will participate in spring commencement.
Students planning to participate in their commencement ceremony must submit their Application for Graduation to the University Registrar's office by the deadline for the semester they plan to walk:
Fall 2016 - September 9
Spring & Summer 2017 - February 3

NOTE: Undergraduate and graduate candidates who wish to request an exception to participate in a ceremony in a different semester than the one when they are scheduled to complete their requirments for graduation – send a request to email@example.com and include WIN, name (as it is to appear in the printed program), degree, mailing address, personal email address, and reason for requesting an exception. The request will be reviewed and responded to as quickly as possible. Written requests can also be sent to Academic Scheduling and Commencement Services, Washburn University, 1700 SW College, Topeka, KS 66621.
