Is there a rehearsal?
There are no rehearsals. You will receive instructions in a letter sent to all candidates for degree as well as prior to the ceremony when you line up.
Do I need tickets?
Tickets are not needed. The ceremonies are open to the public and seating is on a first come first served basis.
What time do students need to arrive?
Candidates for graduation need to report to Petro 125 in the lower level of Petro Allied Health Center approximately 45 minutes prior to the beginning of their ceremony.
Family members and guests should proceed to Lee Arena in the lower level of Petro Allied Health Center.
Where do we park?
Parking is free and is available in lot 4 located directly east of Petro Allied Health Center/Lee Arena. When this lot is full, campus police will direct you to additional parking. The majority of the designated parking for persons with disabilities will be located in lot 5 south of Petro.
Will pictures be taken at the ceremony?
Two pictures will be taken of each graduate - the first will be of the graduate receiving the diploma cover and the second will be a portrait-style photograph as the graduate leaves the stage. I'm receiving Latin Honors. Where do I get my honor cords?
Undergraduate students receiving a bachelor's degree who meet the University's requirements to receive Latin Honors (summa cum laude, magna cum laude, cum laude) will be awarded the appropriate honor cords to be worn during the commencement ceremony. Honor cords will be presented to bachelor degree candidates only at the time you pick up your name card in Petro 125 prior to the ceremony.
Any concerns about Latin Honors must be addressed before the day of the ceremony. Issues regarding Latin Honors will not be addressed when candidates pick up their name card prior to the ceremony. Questions regarding Latin Honors should be sent to: the University Registrar's office.
