Royalty Court

Royalty applications are due Monday, September 19. The king and queen candidates will be announced Monday, October 24 at the Homecoming Ball, and voting will begin that evening.

HOMECOMING DAY -- Saturday, Oct. 29

Pancake Feed

8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center

Enjoy pancakes with Chris Cakes!
Cost is $5 per person.

Homecoming Parade

10:00 a.m.
The parade route circles WU campus, on 17th Street, Washburn Avenue, 21st Street, and MacVicar Avenue. 

Tailgate Party

11:00 a.m.
East lawn of the Memorial Union

Join us for an enormous tailgate party before the Ichabod football game. BBQ lunch buffet includes pulled pork, pulled chicken with sauce and frizzled onions, garden burgers, coleslaw, baked beans, homemade chips, iced sugar cookies, soft drinks or water.

Cost is $8 per person, children 5 and under are free.
Reservations are required for all, including children 5 and under.

Ichabod Football

Watch your Washburn Ichabods take on the Missouri Western State University Griffons! Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m at Yager Stadium at Moore Bowl. Homecoming royalty will be crowned at halftime.

Second Annual Bow Tie Bash

Immediately following the football game, come over to the Memorial Union for the Bow Tie Bash. The post-game party will include beverages, food stations, and live music.

Cost is $30 per person.

Cheer on your Ichabods as they host the Missouri Western State University Griffons at Schendel Court at Lee Arena. The first set begins at 6:00 p.m.

Ichabod Soccer

The Ichabods will battle rival Emporia State at 6:00 p.m. at Yager Stadium. Ichabod soccer games are free to attend, bring the whole family to cheer on the Ichabods!

Washburn Volleyball

Cheer on your Ichabods as they host the Northwest Missouri State at Schendel Court at Lee Arena. The first set begins at 7:00 p.m.

Join Washburn University and Washburn Tech students as they decorate cakes to show off their Ichabod spirit! Location TBD. 

Yell Like Hell

7:00 p.m. at Lee Arena

Student groups will perform coordinated routines to determine who has the most Washburn pride.

Ichabod Race

7:00 p.m.

The Ichabod Race is for teams of 3-5, who will be given clues to go on a scavenger hunt around Washburn's campus to take pictures at certain locations.

Monday, Oct. 24

Top Hats Judging

5:00 p.m.

Homecoming judges will determine which top hats are the most creative, with points being awarded for most creative, best reflects Homecoming theme, most wearable, and best reflects Washburn's spirit. The WU community votes for their favorite hats, and the hats are auctioned off at a Silent Auction at Washburn After Hours on Friday, Oct. 28. All proceeds from the contest benefit the United Way of Greater Topeka.

Homecoming Ball

The 2016 Homecoming Royalty Candidates will be announced at the ball, and voting for king and queen will start.
