Dozens of Ichabods traveled to the Mediterranean for a trip during the fall of 2013

Join fellow Ichabods on trips across the globe during one of our Washburn University Alumni Association trips. We’ve taken Ichabods to China, Australia, London, England and dozens of other destinations.

Hermann, Missouri Wine Trail: Weekend Wine Getaway: Aug. 15-17, 2014 (SOLD OUT)

Note: This trip currently is sold out, but you can contact the alumni office at 785.670.1641 or via email to be placed on a waiting list in the event of a cancellation.

Spend the weekend with Washburn alumni and friends tasting wine along the Hermann, Missouri Wine Trail.

Winding through the scenery of Missouri, the Hermann Wine Trail meanders more than 20 miles along the Missouri River between Hermann, New Haven and beyond.

Nestled along the trail are several charming, family-owned wineries and microbreweries.

Board the private motorcoach and enjoy the ride to Hermann. We'll leave the Washburn campus at 5 p.m. and swing by Kansas City to pick up more alumni and friends before overnighting in nearby Warrenton, Missouri.

We'll spend Saturday and Sunday tasting wine, beer and sausage in Augusta, Hermann and Swiss, Missouri.

The cost of the trip is $259 per double occupancy (single supplement add $125) and includes private motorcoach, refreshments on the motorcoach, two nights accommodation at the Holiday Inn Express, boxed dinner on Friday, German-style lunch on Sunday and tasting fees at Mt. Pleasant, Hermannhof, Oak Glenn, Adam Puchta and Stone Hill.

Vietnam, Cambodia and the Riches of the Mekong: Sept. 2-17, 2014

From tranquil fishing villages to bustling urban streets, a Mekong river cruise provides a unique opportunity to experience one of the most exotic regions of the world.

Cancun and the Riviera Maya: Feb. 1-7, 2015

Get away this winter, head someplace warm and enjoy time with fellows Ichabods at the Grand Palladium Riviera Resort and Spa, located 50 miles south of Cancun in Riviera Maya.

Located on the beach of the Mexican Caribbean, the all-inclusive retreat appeals to spa lovers, singles, couples and families, and the flight from Kansas City to Cancun is only three hours.

This trip sold out in February 2014, and we anticipate it selling out in 2015. The trip is $1,450 per person, double occupancy (single supplement $560). Our advice is to send in your $150 deposit ASAP to secure your seat(s). If you need to cancel, you'll have until Oct. 1 to do so and receive a refund on your deposit.

The trip includes a private motorcoach from Washburn's campus to the airport in Kansas City, as well as the return, charterted non-stop flight to Cancun, airport shuttle, six nights in junior suite accommodations at the resort and unlimited food and beverage at the resort, as well as several other amenities and perks. Holland, Luxembourg and Belgium: May 29-June 7, 2015

Explore the Benelux countries, enjoying three nights each in Amsterdam and Brussels and two nights in Luxembourg. Cruise the canals in Amsterdam, explore the Rijksmuseum and see Rembrandt’s masterpieces, visit Dam Square and the Anne Frank House.

A day trip will give you the opportunity to experience the Aalsmeer Flower Auction, where more than 17 million flowers are sold each day, the Royal Delft Pottery Factory and The Hague.

Visit Maastricht, where the treaty for a stronger unified Europe was signed. Cross the Belgium border and stop in Bastogne at the American Memorial of the Battle of the Bulge.

Brussels features the Grand Place, Rue Royale, the Royal Palace and St. Michael Cathedral. Marvel at the medieval architecture in Bruges and sample Belgian chocolate bonbons. While in Luxembourg, visit the Cathedral of our Lady and the Grand Ducal Palace. Explore the sites to relive the famous Battle of Waterloo.

Italy, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia and Slovenia: Oct. 29-Nov. 7, 2015

All aboard Oceania Cruises’ elegant Riviera for a fabulous eight-night Adriatic cruise to historic and scenic ports of call. Depart Rome for Sorrento, a delightful seaside resort with its winding cobblestone streets and majestic mountain vistas, or travel to Capri, where idyllic seascapes and quaint villages await.

Find yourself amid ancient ruins and colorful shops in the Sicilian town of Taormina and admire the timeless frescoes of St. Andrews Monastery in Kefalonia’s lovely capital, Argostoli, Greece.

Continue to Montenegro’s coastal port of Kotor, a medieval town enclosed by impressive walls, and then on to Croatia and the centuries-old city of Zadar, featuring marble streets framed by Romanesque structures.

Explore Koper, an age-old city filled with grand architecture, home to the largest cathedral in Slovenia, followed by Venice, a romantic masterpiece built on water.
