Personalized Visits

On a personalized visit, you’ll take a campus tour with a current Washburn student, speak with faculty about your area of academic interest, and get your questions about admissions and scholarships answered by an admissions counselor.  We schedule your day’s activities around tours beginning at 10, 11, 1, and 2.  These visits typically last 2 hours.  To schedule a visit, sign in or create an online account.  You may also contact the Office of Admissions at 785.670.1030Phone Icon: Call 785-670-1030 or 877.281.BODSPhone Icon: Call 877-281-2637 (2637).

So, what should you expect during your campus visit?

You will:

Where should you go once you get here?

When you get to campus, head to the Admissions front desk in the Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center located at 17th and Jewell. The front doors are located across from White Concert Hall, on the east side of the building.

How long do campus visits last?

To get the full Washburn University experience, please allow approximately an hour and a half for the campus tour and admissions discussion. If you would like to speak with someone from your academic area of interest, allow an extra 30-45 minutes.

Where should you park once you get to campus?

Once you find the BTC, please park in the spots allocated for Admissions visits in the lot to the south of the building. Make sure you get a parking pass from the attendant at the front desk if one was not mailed to you previously.

Take A Look At Scholarships

Scholarships at Washburn University

Paying for college may seem like a challenge, but Washburn University offers a number of scholarships to keep your education affordable. Most freshmen are eligible to receive academic scholarships, and the Office of Admissions also awards scholarships to transfer students.  Special scholarships are available according to students’ interests and achievements. Many academic departments offer scholarships to undergraduates, too.  Washburn's Scholarship Advantage deadline is December 1, but we award scholarships on a first-come, first-serve basis.  The sooner you apply, the better chance you will have of receiving an award.

Washburn University makes applying for scholarships easy.  Simply complete your application file by December 1.

For freshmen, a complete application file includes the application for admission; a one-time, $20 application fee; official high school transcript; and official ACT scores.

For transfer students, a complete application file includes the application for admission; a one-time, $20 application fee; and official transcripts from EACH post-secondary school the student has attended.

Be sure to check the complete listing of scholarships offered by Washburn University to verify for which awards you might be eligible.
