Two major changes are happening with the FAFSA for the 2017-2018 academic year.
1. The FAFSA will now be available after October 1 each year. Beginning with the 2017-2018 award year, the FAFSA will be available on October 1, 2016.
- Washburn University's NEW priority date for the FAFSA will be November 15, 2016.
2. To accommodate the earlier availability, FAFSA will now use tax information from TWO years prior to the award year for which you are completing an application. For the 2017-2018 award year, the FAFSA will require 2015 tax information
Completing the FAFSA application utilizing the Washburn University federal school code of 001949 prior to the priority date may increase your eligibility for limited programs.
The priority submission date is December 1.
Returning students who have received an academic scholarship MUST complete a Scholarship Renewal Application online at www.washburn.edu/finanical-aid-forms by December 1 each year. (Note: For 2017-2018, renewal applications will be accepted until February 15, 2017.)
