How To Apply

Apply to Washburn and become an Ichabod!  We’ll need:

  • The online application for admission
  • Official transcripts from your high school and any colleges or universities where you’ve taken courses for credit
  • A one-time, non-refundable $20 application fee (Or the Admissions Application Fee Waiver for qualified students)
  • Official ACT scores (these are often found on your high school transcript.  If not, log in to your ACT account and request your scores be sent to Washburn by entering school code 1474. 

Home Schooled Students

The same application materials are required for home-schooled students, except for those with composite ACT scores less than 23, who must also take the GED exam and submit scores to the Office of Admissions.


Scholarship Notice

Students must complete their application files for the fall by December 1st to be considered for scholarships.  Washburn annually awards approximately $6 million in scholarships to first-time undergraduates.  To qualify for scholarships, you must have a high school GPA of at least 3.0 and an ACT composite score of at least 21.  Awards range from $500-5,000. 

Financial Aid Notice

All students are encouraged to apply for federal financial aid.  You will receive your Student Aid Report 5 to 7 days after you complete the application. The Financial Aid Office uses the Student Aid Report to determine your eligibility for aid before notifying you of your awards via USPS.  The Financial Aid Office has information about grants and loans.  You must complete your application file before you receive a financial aid disbursement.  The Business Office keeps a schedule of financial aid refunds
