Frank S. Henderson, Jr. was appointed Executive Director of the Kansas Crime Victims Compensation Board in 1995. The Crime Victims Compensation Board was established by the 1978 Kansas Legislature as a means to provide monetary support for out of pocket losses to victims of violent crime. Frank has worked for the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services, the Kansas Department of Corrections, and also was appointed by Governor Mike Hayden to a four-year term on the Kansas Parole Board. He served as Chairman, as well as Vice-Chairman of the Board during his term.
Frank has served as an officer for the National Association of Crime Victims Compensation Boards, and serves as a consultant to the United States Department of Justice. Additionally, he has served as president of the Kansas Organization for Victim Assistance and has served on the Kansas Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, the Governor's Advisory Commission on Mental Health and Retardation Services, the Governor's Mental Health Planning Council Subcommittee on Forensic Services as well as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for juveniles in the Kansas Third Judicial District. He has provided consulting and training services to many local, state and federal agencies and organizations regarding the criminal justice system, victim issues, and personnel development.
