Kathi West has been a Victim/Witness Coordinator at the United States Attorney's for over ten years in the Western District of Texas. Before coming to the USAO, Kathi spent five years as the Case Manager/Crisis Counselor at the Austin Police Department's Victim Services Division. Prior to her work in the criminal justice system, Ms. West worked as an Emergency Room Social Worker at the regional trauma center and as a house parent at a ranch for abused and neglected children.
Ms. West is been actively involved with the Texas Crisis Consortium. Which serves to coordinate and assist the emergency mental health needs following a state or federally declared disaster or mass casualty incident. She is a member of the Texas Attorney General's Leadership Council, is also is on the Steering Committee for the Texas Victim Assistance Academy and serves on the faculty, she has served as faculty for the National Victim Assistance Academy (NVAA) and has served on the Advisory Council for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Victim Services. Ms. West has provided training at national, state, regional and local conferences on various crime victim- related issues for the past fifteen years.
